Unwanted fat and skin folds can be removed from virtually any part of the body with liposuction surgery. Our experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Conrado Trapero, offers this popular cosmetic procedure with a skilled hand and amazing results.
Liposuction (liposculpture) is a procedure that can sculpt the body by breaking up and suctioning away fat deposits from specific areas on the body. These areas include:
- Upper Arms
Although no surgical procedure is a substitute for a healthy diet and regular exercise, body contouring through liposuction, available at our Mazatlán, Mexico facility, can do wonders to get rid of stubborn excess fat. Liposuction is also beneficial in certain breast lift procedures, and can be combined with Facelift, tummy tuck, or a number of other cosmetic options. The Liposuction Procedure
Liposuction begins with the insertion of a thin, hollow tube called a cannula into the area designated for fat removal. Dr. Conrado Trapero will ease the cannula back and forth through the tissue while the excess fat is vacuumed out through the tube. Finally, the incision, which is quite small, will be stitched up and the procedure is complete. Liposculpture performed at our Mazatlán, Mexico practice is typically an outpatient procedure requiring either epidural or general anesthesia. Normal, daily routines can be resumed within a week after treatment.
There are many different types of liposuction; however the technique known as super-wet liposuction is Dr. Trapero's preferred method. During super-wet liposuction, Dr. Trapero injects small amounts of anesthetic fluid into the body; the amount injected usually matches the amount of fat that is to be vacuumed out. This technique typically results in less blood loss than traditional, "dry" liposuction methods. Super-wet liposuction typically requires the use of a general anesthetic, and can be completed in less than two hours.
Recovery time after liposuction (liposculpture) at our Mazatlán, Mexico facility largely depends on the size of the treated area. On relatively small areas, recovery lasts only a matter of days. Normal routines can usually be resumed within a week after the procedure. There is generally some swelling that may take time to go down after liposuction, sometimes even a few months. However, once the swelling has dissipated, the full results of the liposuction treatment will be revealed.
Body Contouring with Liposculpture
Good candidates for body contouring with liposculpture, performed here at our Mazatlán, Mexico practice, have realistic expectations about the results, and are relatively fit, with firm, elastic skin. Liposuction is a surgical cosmetic procedure designed to eliminate stubborn fat, fatty pockets, and skin folds. It is not an effective procedure for people looking to lose weight. You will most likely see the results of your liposculpture immediately after the procedure, however, keep in mind that the full results may not be apparent until recovery is complete.
