Tummy Tuck - Abdominoplasty in Mazatlán, Mexico
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is one of the most popular procedures at our Mazatlán, Mexico practice. During the procedure, Dr. Conrado Trapero tightens the mid-section to create a flat, toned abdomen by removing stubborn skin folds and fat that hasn't responded to diet and exercise. Undergoing a tummy tuck is an effective method of doing away with excess fat and achieving a more slender physique.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is performed here in Mazatlán, Mexico by experienced plastic surgeon Dr. Conrado Trapero. If you are of relatively normal weight but have loose skin and excess fat in the mid-section of your body, you could be an ideal candidate for abdominoplasty. Recent weight loss, pregnancy, and genetic disposition often account for these excess skin folds. While liposuction is useful for removing unwanted fat, tummy tuck surgery also eliminates the extra skin, allowing us to reshape your abdomen for a more sculpted, tightened appearance. During an initial consultation, you and Dr. Trapero will discuss your cosmetic surgery goals and determine if abdominoplasty is right for you.
The Tummy Tuck Procedure
During the tummy tuck procedure, Dr. Trapero will make a careful incision from hip to hip; the incision is typically made below the bikini-line, easily hidden by clothing or swim wear. After the initial incision, a skin flap is created. Then, Dr. Trapero will tighten the underlying muscles, thereby narrowing the waistline. Once the excess skin is removed, the skin flap will be replaced and the incision will be closed with sutures.
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) at our Mazatlán, Mexico practice usually takes just a few hours to complete and can be performed under either epidural or general anesthesia. Abdominoplasty may be combined with liposuction to achieve optimal results.
Tummy Tuck Recovery
After a tummy tuck, you should allow a week or two of healing at home; you may find it takes several weeks to feel completely normal. Stitches are generally removed about five to seven days after abdominoplasty. It is extremely important that you follow all post-operative instructions carefully. While strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks after the procedure, we recommend that you begin taking gentle walks as soon as you can after surgery to prevent blood clots.
Our tummy tuck surgeon in Mazatlán, Mexico will give you all the pre-operative and post-operative details at your consultation.
