Achieve a More Defined Chest with Male Breast Reduction
If you suffer from gynecomastia, the condition can cause excess fat and tissue to develop in the male breast area. Fortunately, Dr. Conrado Trapero can perform male breast reduction surgery at his Mazatlán, Mexico, practice. There are several ways to perform this procedure. In some cases, Dr. Trapero may perform liposuction, but in other instances, he will trim away excess tissue. Either way, following gynecomastia surgery, you will be able to enjoy a flatter, more toned chest.
Are You a Candidate for Gynecomastia Surgery?
Gynecomastia is the result of a hormonal imbalance. The body produces both testosterone and estrogen, but, as a man, the estrogen levels are relatively low. As you age, your body could produce less testosterone, or estrogen production could increase. As a result, your breast glands may swell, or fat deposits may develop in the area. If you suffer from gynecomastia, you are likely a good candidate for male breast reduction surgery. However, breast reduction is not a weight loss procedure. If you are severely overweight or obese, you will not qualify for treatment.
The Breast Reduction Procedure
There are several methods that Dr. Trapero may use to perform your breast reduction. The procedure he selects will depend on your body type and breast size. If you have a small to moderate amount of excess tissue, he may simply need to perform liposuction. Through tiny incisions in your chest, he will gently loosen and remove the unwanted fat tissue. After you have healed, the scars will be virtually invisible.
If you have a larger amount of excess tissue, Dr. Trapero may need to trim away some of the skin and fat. Typically, he will create incisions around your areolas, running down to your breast crease. Through these openings, he can excise tissue and reposition your nipple, if needed. Frequently, Dr. Trapero will combine liposuction with these manual techniques.
Recovery and Results after Male Breast Reduction
Recovery from your breast reduction will depend on the procedure method. In general, you will be able to resume most of your normal activities in about one week. We recommend remaining in Mazatlán during this time so that we can monitor your recovery and respond quickly in the event of a complication. You should avoid rigorous exercise for about one month or until Dr. Trapero gives his approval.
Following male breast reduction, your chest will be flatter and more defined. Patients can experience an enhanced, more masculine appearance.
After your surgery, you will likely experience some swelling and irritation. You can manage this discomfort with mild medications and compression bandages. Once the swelling begins to subside (after a few weeks), you will begin to see the results of your treatment. Following male breast reduction, your chest will likely be flatter and more defined. Along with your enhanced, masculine appearance, you can also enjoy increased self-confidence. You may also be more willing to engage in a wide range of physical activities and social events.
